The Brief
The club's existing site, a previous build of ours, sat on a platform that announced it was shutting down. They needed a new home, fast.
The brief wasn't a like-for-like port. It was a chance to rebuild it properly: a modern stack the club could rely on long-term, and a visual presence that did more justice to a club with over forty years of history behind it.
The deadline was tight. The audience skews 50+. Every decision had to earn its place.
The Approach
The previous build leaned on 3D animations to feel modern. We pulled them back. In their place sits a single deep-water hero, with a gradient, swimming fish, and light rays piercing the surface from above.
The result reads quieter. Cleaner. And, somehow, more present. Minimal in form, stronger in atmosphere.
Navigation was kept deliberately simple. The audience skews older, and the site needed to feel obvious to anyone, not just web-natives. Big legible type. Familiar patterns. Nothing clever for the sake of it.
What We Covered
Complete rebuild on a modern stack. Same club, sharper presence, none of the platform fragility of the previous build.
Hero gradient, swimming fish, light rays from the surface. The previous 3D approach replaced with something quieter and more refined.
Indexable structure, clean meta, sitemap, schema. Built so the club’s name actually surfaces when someone searches.
Lightweight, responsive, fast across devices, including the older hardware the demographic actually uses.
The Result
The new site shipped under deadline on a stack the club can rely on. Visually, it's the strongest version of TVFC online to date. Refined, atmospheric, and built around how the club actually wants to be seen.
The previous build felt loud. This one feels confident.
